VI Training is a Vehicle Inspectors Preparatory Course it was developed to create an easier way for automotive technicians,vehicle inspectors and workshop owners to measure their skill level, by completing test questions and simulation exams. Upon completion of this course participants may apply to NZ Transport Agency for assessment.

Please note that there are additional requirements to become a vehicle inspector. Individuals must refer to the NZTA Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual (VIRM) for full details on the eligibility criteria for vehicle inspectors. Completing the VI TRAINING Preparatory Course does not guarantee an individual will be approved by NZTA.
