Course Content: VIRM Training

Course Overview

WOF Practical Training

  • Location: Practical training sessions will be conducted at our Court Hamilton site.
  • Competency Procedures: Instruction on the WOF practical inspection procedures.
  • Steps for Inspection Procedures: Detailed guidance on the necessary steps involved in vehicle inspections.
  • Beam Setter Instructions: Comprehensive training on how to effectively use the beam setter for headlamp alignment.
  • Full Inspections: Opportunities to conduct full vehicle inspections as often as needed to build confidence and expertise.
  • Roller Brake Test: Training on performing roller brake tests, applicable if your workshop has the necessary equipment.
  • Safe Equipment Use: Emphasis on the correct operation and safe use of all testing equipment on the premises.

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for individuals involved in the maintenance and preparation of vehicles for periodic safety inspection tests. Those who meet the NZTA requirements may qualify to become Vehicle Inspectors.

This package covers the essential modules you’ll need to study for your WOF certification:

Step 2: Practical Training

Our 1-day preparatory course is designed to enhance your knowledge and understanding of the inspection procedures at a higher skill level. You will learn to:

  • Accurately identify defects
  • Make qualitative and quantitative assessments (including wear and tear)
  • Evaluate the overall condition of vehicles

Your NZTA Final Test

Once you’ve successfully completed our training course and the 1-day practical training, you will be ready to submit your application to the NZ Transport Agency.
