Course Content: VIRM Training

Overview
Participants will receive 3 months of access to the online training portal, which includes comprehensive monitoring of training performance to ensure successful outcomes.

  • CoFa/Light PSV Training: Conducted at our Hamilton site.
  • Competence Procedure: Detailed guidance on CoFa/Light PSV practical inspection.
  • Steps for Inspection Procedures: Learn the systematic approach for conducting thorough inspections.
  • Instructions for Using the Beam Setter: Hands-on training to ensure correct usage of equipment.
  • Full Inspections: Opportunity to carry out full inspections as many times as required.
  • Roller Brake Test: Perform roller brake tests using approved brake testing equipment.
  • Testing Equipment Operation: Training on the correct operation and safe use of testing equipment at the premises.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for individuals involved in maintaining and preparing vehicles for periodic safety inspection tests. Those who meet all the NZTA requirements can qualify to become Vehicle Inspectors.

CoFa/Light PSV Certification Training

Step 1: Theory of Online Training

This package includes the essential modules for your CoFa/Light PSV certification:

  • Modules Covered:
    • Introduction
    • CoFa/Light PSV

Step 2: Practical Training

Our 1-day preparatory course aims to enhance your knowledge and skills in using an inspection procedure. You will learn to:

  • Identify defects accurately
  • Make qualitative and quantitative assessments (wear and tear)
  • Evaluate the overall condition of vehicles

Your NZTA Final Test

Upon successfully completing our training course and the 1-day practical training, you will be prepared to submit your application to the NZ Transport Agency.
